"Dynamical Classrooms, Transparent Technology"The world economy and culture is changing dramatically because of technology, how should classrooms change? How should our knowledge of learning theory, available technologies, and needed workforce skills shape K-16 instruction? New teachers laugh at the prospect of "overhead projector training." Technology in the classroom should become a transparent part of the learning process, a tool like a pencil or overhead that facilitates instruction rather than distracts or becomes the focus of instruction. Like weather, classroom learning environments resemble dynamical systems rather than factory production lines. Constructivist learning theory, combined with new technologies, should shape today's and tomorrow's classrooms. Session notes (presented at
