"Ask 3, Then Ask Me"

When your
students are using technology, teachers not only don't have time
to answer all the student
questions which come up, they often don't know them either! Adopt
the slogan "Ask 3, then ask me" for students when it comes to technology
questions
in the classroom or computer lab.
- To ask for help in the computer lab, train students to place a red
plastic cup (normally positioned beside their computer) on top of their monitor
as a signal (instead of raising their hand.)

amounts of time are wasted when students don't save files properly,
making TWO DECISIONS each time they save. Here is the process that
must become routine!)
Computer File Management

Renaming, moving, copying, organizing files in
folders / directories. Saving in different locations (floppy, zip disk,
network folder, recordable CD)
Bookmarking / Saving Favorites
Copy and Paste Skills
Streamlining Internet Access (It is so
easy to waste time online: here are some strategies to help maintain
student focus)

Technique 1: Save an internet shortcut in a network folder that all
students can access, then they can double click the icon to visit the
site

Technique 2: Embed the link in a template file (see below for more
details: can be a Word, PowerPoint, or Inspiration file)
