Here are some other assorted technology tools (software and hardware) as well as helpful websites relating to technology integration!

Internet Safety

  3. GetNetWise.org (www.getnetwise.org) - Outstanding resource for online safety issues
  4. Filtering software will help prevent student access to objectionable web content at school, but is NOT a total solution to this problem. Adult supervision of students online at all times is a must! Online resources about filtering software include:

My Online Scavenger Hunts:

  1. Texas Heritage Scavenger Hunt: Practice cut and paste internet skills online. You can print a hardcopy of the hunt directly from your web browser.
  2. Mathematics on the Internet Scavenger Hunt: An excellent way for teachers to learn about the wealth of mathematics resources located on the web. This was an activity used during a 1997 Lubbock ISD inservice program.
  3. Election 2000 Scavenger Hunt - A hotlist and downloadable template files in AppleWorks and Word formats are also available.

  2. Macromedia Dreamweaver: The premier webpage authoring program available today. I much prefer Dreamweaver to Frontpage.
  3. Macromedia Dreamweaver Exchange: Download new extensions to increase the power and functionality of DW.
  4. PrintToPDF: Convert any document into a PDF file. ($20 shareware) Workshop curriculum on this topic is available. Windows version PDF converter software is listed at the bottom of this page.
  5. Convert MS Office documents into PDF files online: http://createpdf.adobe.com/
  6. GoClick: Convert any document into a webpage ($79 for educators)
